Today we ring in the new year and a new decade. I can’t help but think of Barbara Walters and Hugh Downs on ABC News opening with … and this is 2020. A Friday evening news magazine show, popular in the 1990s and still on the air today.

In other news, Legal weed starts today in Illinois. Kind of reminds me of how people must have felt after prohibition ended in 1933. Funny thing is, prohibition started 100 years ago today… I hope that’s not some type of sign.

The new year for me is always bittersweet, it’s a time for reflection and a time for hopeful wishes for how the next 12 months will play out. The year always starts with good intentions, it’s the execution that doesn’t always live up to the promise.

This year, I’m not setting “goals” per se but making intentions for what I will do every day/week. I did accomplish many of my goals last year, but what was most important is I found a framework for setting the right mindset for accomplishing my goals and how I want to live my life. Which is way more important than trying to reach 1 goal. Rather by creating a framework for an overall better life mindset, the goal targets naturally become easier for me. Here’s and example:

My success rhythms (goals) for 2020:

  • Write every day, for a minimum of 30 minutes, because writing leads to wealth.
  • Bullet journal every day, before bed and in the morning to clear my mind and extract my personal high-impact tasks for the week/day.
  • Read my daily affirmations in the morning and before bed as this realigns my mindset to my constantly evolving goals and sources for the best possible solutions to my problems at hand.
  • Maintain my brain dump sessions to clear my mind and keep my weekly task plotting sessions on Sunday.

Any feedback on this?
